I was listening to some famous personality … who is immensely successful person … while giving the talk the most prominent statement which resonated with the audience was ” we must play to win , we must have killer instinct ”
I was one of the them who got excited after listening this! I was thinking what a great statement…. this feeling remained with me for a quite considerable time …
I started practising this in my life … every day in the morning I used to recite the statement like mantra “come on you have to win …”
Time passed and somehow I started feeling discomfort at my heart …
I was feeling that I am deviating from the my natural behaviour … , I am not responding to the situation the way should I have done ideally , I realised somewhere I am going wrong …. I started analysing the statement ” We must play to win ” …
I was searching the real meaning for this … and a famous statement of Lord Shri Krishna just pop up in front of me …
You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never consider yourself to be the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty. –
I was further confused one successful person recommending ” play to win ” and Lord is instructing just “doing the duty without getting attached to its phala … “
I was pondering on this thought … after long thought and consideration I realised ….
we must play to win statement should be taken in the spirit of ” never give up …. giving one’s best in all situation without thinking the end result.
we must have self confidence even in most critical situations of our life …
we must play to win but not to win with others … instead we must play to win ourself … every moment one should just have the attitude to giving one’s best …probably this is real meaning of ”
” We must play to win & one must have killer instinct “
If we practice this in a very materialistic manner it will result in stress , envy … even if we get the desired materialist results … it will not be sustainable!
Just to mention that I am not at a successful man …I am just a mechanical engineer who is doing a job of 8 to 6 pm .. like most of the youngsters does !
I am sharing this in the context of managing my Job !
